From January 25 – March 24, 2018 the Museo de Arte de Mazatlán, under the direction of Cecila Sánchez Duarte, invited Atelier Ludmila’s Artistic Director, Laurel Paluck into their beautiful gallery and workshop to experiment with single-use plastics to create new artist materials. During weekly workshops and sessions, young learners from the ages of 5-17 explored and experimented with the “garbage” we found on the beaches, streets and in our own trash bins.  Soon adults, fellow artists and a troupe of dancers from the The Mazatlan Professional School of Dance came aboard. We talked “trash”, discussed the Ocean, the migration of whales, and looked honestly at our habits around single-use disposables. And then.. we got to work, cranked the tunes and starting making.
